Projects

Lake Matoaka

Problem: The stream below the dam was eroding the bank of the dam which undermined the structural integrity of the dam.

Solution: We relocated the stream away from the dam, created storm protection using rip rap and built back up the dam.

Hog Island

Problem: Hurricanes and large storms had damaged and were eroding away the shoreline to the island.

Solution: We stabilized the shoreline using earth berms and rip rap. Then graded the site for proper drainage after storm events and built up the existing stone road.

Boat House on Powhatan

Problem: Owners needed a place to put their boats.

Solution: We designed and built a custom boat house to meet the owner’s unique needs. Our boat houses and piers are built using larger diameter piles and cross bracing for added strength. We also through bolt all components to give added protection against storms. This boat house was designed with three lifts, one of them capable of lifting 30000 lbs.

Bulkhead

Problem: Owners were losing their riverfront embankment due to erosion.

Solution: We installed a bulkhead about 5 feet high using wooden piles and tongue and groove sheathing. For extra support and protection we install tie backs on each of our piles.
